TS Galaxy have threatened Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena with legal action following his claims made in his side's 3-0 win on Monday.

In the post-match press conference, Mokwena alluded that Bongani Zungu's injury suffered at the hands of Orebotse Mongae was not a coincidence and that it was allegedly premeditated, by Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic.

"I'm disappointed with the tackle on Bongani Zungu, I was told already last night, the coach of the opposition showed that tackle, that Bongani Zungu made on Bernard Parker. Showed it to the players and said 'don't forget what Bongani Zungu did'," Rulani Mokwena told SuperSport.

Ramovic in turn, defended his side, refuting claims that the incident on Zungu was deliberate and an act of revenge for the potentially career-ending challenge on Bernard Parker earlier in the season. Notably, Parker went on to face Sundowns in Monday's match and missed a penalty.

Now, TS Galaxy have released a statement via their social media pages, urging Mokwena to prove claims that the challenge on Zungu was premeditated or run the risk of facing legal action.

"TS Galaxy FC takes serious exception to the comments made by @Masandawana coach Rhulani Mokoena, insinuating that our Head Coach instigated the injury suffered by Sundowns player Bongani Zungu during our match last night. Mokoena lied blatantly through his teeth which we deem to be serious embarrassment to our game never mind the Club that he represents. If Mokoena still believes in his own lies, we are now calling him out publicly to prove his claim within 24 hours, failing which our Club and our Coach will assert their rights in law!" they tweeted.
