Reports: Chelsea Agree R542m Deal For Real Madrid Star
Premier League champions Chelsea have reportedly agreed to a £31.2 million (R542 million) fee for a Real Madrid star.
According to the Spanish publication Marca, Brazilian right-back Danilo is on the verge of sealing a move to the London side.
The report says the 25-year-old is not in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for the upcoming season and the coach is happy to let him go in this transfer window.
The defender is desperate for some regular game time under his belt, as he would like play for his country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The former Porto star was linked with a move to Juventus, but it looks like Chelsea have hijacked the deal.
The full-back joined Los Blancos in 2015 for a fee of £26 million (R452 million) but has struggled to dethrone Spain defender Dani Carvajal from the right-back position.
Antonio Conte has already signed Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero for the new campaign and is hoping to add a few more faces in the coming week.
Danilo managed to make 56 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring three goals and assisting in nine more in all competitions.
