Lebese Sent Away As Downs Move Looms
George Lebese Isn't Training With Kaizer Chiefs' First Team
Kaizer Chiefs attacker, George Lebese, is no longer training with the club’s first team as a move to Mamelodi Sundowns seems to draw closer.
It was confirmed by the Amakhosi on Tuesday that they were in talks with Masandawana regarding a potential transfer for the 28-year-old before the window closes in around three weeks’ time, this after the Siya crew broke the news that the two teams are in talks.
Bobby Motaung said, “We have received an offer from Sundowns. However, at this stage of proceedings an agreement regarding a transfer fee has not been reached.”
While Lebese trained with the team on Tuesday morning, he was not present for the club’s second session as he was sent to train with one of Chiefs’ youth teams, following in the footsteps of Lehlohonolo Majoro prior to his departure in 2014.
The Siya crew has since been informed that ‘Geeza’ was also missing for Wednesday’s training and it would appear that he will not be attending senior sessions until his future has been finalised.
At this point it still remains to be seen whether the attacker will make the move from Naturena to Chloorkop, however Sundowns are trying to push the transfer through before Friday so that they can register him for the CAF Champions League knockout stages.
