SuperSport United Sniffing Around Kaizer Chiefs And Orlano Pirates Target
SuperSport United have set their sights on one of the Soweto giants’ transfer target, as interest in the player continues to build up.
Ajax Cape Town midfielder, Bantu Mzwakali, attracted interested from both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates last year, with the Siya crew subsequently reporting that Ajax rejected an offer of around R2 million from Amakhosi.
However, prior to their bid, it was reported on Soccer Laduma that the Urban Warriors wanted around R4 million for Mzwakali, which meant that Chiefs’ offer for the player stood no chance against Ajax’s demands.
The Siya crew has since been informed by a reliable source that SuperSport have been looking into the player’s availability, despite the 23-year-old putting pen to paper on a new contract with the Ikamva-based club in November last year.
Mzwakali’s new contract with the Urban Warriors will run until the end of the 2017/18 season and includes a two-year option.
This means that should Matsatsantsa intensify their interest in the midfielder, the Tshwane giants will have to negotiate directly with Ajax management in the upcoming transfer window.
Although, SuperSport could wait until the January transfer window next year, 2018, to open pre-contract talks with Mzwakali, however, this can only happen if Ajax does not exercise the added two-year option in his contract.
