The Soweto giants have both officially unveiled their new kits ahead of the 2017/18 campaign. On Thursday last week, Kaizer Chiefs revealed their Nike-sponsored kit with an out-of-this-world video on their social media pages to introduce their faithful to the team’s official attire for the season, while crosstown rivals Orlando Pirates revealed their new adidas kits on Monday.
Kaizer Chiefs began their pre-season on a high last weekend, when they won a four-team one-day tournament, the Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup. One noticeable absentee in both of Chiefs' games was Siphiwe Tshabalala.
At present, Orlando Pirates are faced with a situation as the club has five national team goalkeepers in their squad ahead of the 2017/18 season. According to reports in the media, there is a possibility of a move to Chippa United for Brighton Mhlongo, but there has not been any confirmation from the Sea Robbers.
